Remsenburg-Speonk Students Pledge to Stay Drug Free During Red Ribbon Week

Remsenburg-Speonk students concluded Red Ribbon Week by signing a pledge to remain drug-free and welcoming Chief Kiernan of the Southampton Town Police Department for a discussion about healthy choices and personal safety.

During his visit, Chief Kiernan emphasized the importance of protecting their bodies from harmful substances and staying away from drugs. He encouraged students to take an active role in their own safety and asked them to be his partners in that effort.

Chief Kiernan also shared a personal message, telling students that spending time with them reminds him why he became a police officer. His visit reinforced the connection between the students and the people who work to keep their community safe.

The pledge signing gave students an opportunity to put the week’s message into action, affirming their commitment to making safe, healthy choices.
