Creativity took center stage at Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School as fourth-grade students welcomed family members and friends to their annual Poetry Picnic.

The special event celebrated students’ hard work and artistic expression, giving them the opportunity to share poetry and music with an appreciative audience. Throughout the picnic, students confidently took the microphone to perform live poetry readings, showcasing original works and favorite poems they had studied throughout the year.

In addition to the poetry presentations, students also performed musical selections, adding another layer of entertainment to the afternoon and highlighting the many talents of the fourth-grade class.

Families gathered outdoors to enjoy the performances, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere as students shared their creativity and practiced their public speaking skills. From thoughtful reflections to imaginative verses, each performance demonstrated the growth, confidence and individuality of the young learners.

The Poetry Picnic served as a meaningful celebration of literacy, the arts and community, bringing together students, staff and families for an afternoon of learning and appreciation. The event provided a memorable way for fourth graders to showcase their accomplishments while creating lasting memories with their loved ones.
