First Graders Celebrate End of School Year With Adventure at Vanderbilt Museum

First graders recently enjoyed an unforgettable field trip to the Vanderbilt Museum, where they explored space, science, and marine life during a day filled with hands-on learning and discovery.
The adventure began inside the Planetarium with the show “Meet the Planets,” where students blasted off on an exciting journey through the solar system. Along the way, they learned fascinating facts about the sun, planets, moons, and stars while experiencing the wonders of outer space in an engaging and interactive setting.
Following the planetarium experience, students participated in a guided tour throughout the museum. The young learners explored exhibits, including the Hall of Fishes and the wildlife dioramas, where they observed unique animals and marine life and gained a deeper appreciation for science and nature.
To conclude the trip, each student created a shark tooth necklace to take home as a special keepsake from the day.
The field trip served as a fun and memorable way to celebrate the conclusion of the students’ first-grade year, combining education, creativity, and exploration into one exciting experience.
